Bonan Wei is a designer and researcher working at the intersection of human behavior, intelligent systems, and embodied interaction. He is pursuing a BFA in Industrial Design at the Rhode Island School of Design, and is a researcher at Tsinghua University's Future Laboratory and the State Key Laboratory of Intelligent Green Vehicle and Mobility.
His work is rooted in industrial design but refuses its boundaries. He is increasingly drawn to embodied intelligence — the question of how physical form, sensation, and cognition co-evolve within intelligent systems. His practice moves between design research and speculative making, exploring what it means to design not just objects or interfaces, but the conditions under which humans and machines come to understand each other.
His research has been presented at the 2026 ZGC Forum Annual Conference and the 2026 China Science Fiction Convention (CSFC). He also led the brand and product design for Baisu Manor, a family venture whose visual identity appeared on a competing car at the 2026 FIA Formula 4 Chinese Championship. His work has been recognized by the IF, IDEA, IDA, and Muse design awards.
Bonan Wei是一位工程研究型设计师，研究方向聚焦于人的行为、智能系统与具身交互的交叉地带。他就读于罗德岛设计学院（RISD）工业设计本科，同时以研究员身份隶属于清华大学未来实验室与智能绿色车辆与交通全国重点实验室。
他的创作以工业设计为起点，研究兴趣正逐步向具身智能迁移——探索物理形态、感知与认知如何在智能系统中协同演化。他的实践游走于设计研究与思辨造物之间，试图回答的不只是"如何设计物体或界面"，而是人与机器相互理解的条件本身如何被设计。
他参与的研究项目曾参展2026中关村论坛年会与2026中国科幻大会（CSFC）。他主导设计了家族品牌百岁庄的产品与品牌视觉，相关设计以赞助商身份出现于2026 FIA F4中国锦标赛赛车涂装。其作品曾获 iF、IDEA、IDA、Muse 等国际设计奖项。
